Pallone on Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s HHS Nomination
Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement on Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s nomination to lead the Department of Health and Human Services:
“The Department of Health and Human Services is one of our nation’s most important agencies. It’s responsible for everything from protecting the health of the American people to ensuring the safety of our nation’s food and drug supply.
“Given this immense responsibility, I have deep concerns about Mr. Kennedy’s lack of experience and history of repeatedly uplifting conspiracy theories that endanger public health and American lives.
“Congressional Republicans regularly speak about the importance of restoring public trust in our nation’s health agencies. Confirming a known conspiracy theorist is not the way to restore that trust.”
