Whistleblower Tipline
Thank you for coming forward with information about possible waste, fraud, abuse of authority, danger to public health and safety, or regulatory or legal violation under the jurisdiction of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. We are grateful for your willingness to provide information and take it very seriously.
Whistleblowers play a vital role in helping Congress conduct its constitutionally mandated oversight responsibilities. Your disclosures can make a difference.
The right to communicate with Congress is established and protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Various U.S. laws prohibit retaliation for providing information to Congress, including 5 U.S. Code § 2302 (Prohibited Personnel Practices) for many Executive Branch employees, and there are numerous private-sector whistleblower protections. However, every situation is unique, and individuals still take serious risks when they make allegations of wrongdoing.
You can contact the Committee by:
- Filling out the form below; or
- Emailing the whistleblower hotline at ECDemTips@mail.house.gov.
To better protect your communications, do not conduct any whistleblower activity or contact us using work resources or while you are working. Further, consider consulting an attorney experienced in representing whistleblowers before you make a disclosure.
Please know that the more information you relay to us, the more effectively we can evaluate your concerns. While you may choose to remain completely anonymous, if you identify yourself, we will not disclose your identity without your written consent.
