Pallone on TrumpRx Scam

Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today as the Trump Administration unveiled the TrumpRx platform: 

“TrumpRx is a textbook example of the ‘waste, fraud, and abuse’ Republicans in Congress claim they want to eliminate.

“This fly by night platform not only threatens patients’ health, safety, and privacy, but also likely includes kickback schemes designed to enrich President Trump, his family, and their friends. 

“TrumpRx has been shrouded in secrecy from the beginning because the Administration clearly does not want anyone to know it likely won’t save patients money. However, we do know Trump only slaps his name on things when there’s something in it for him.

“Instead of holding this Administration accountable and conducting real oversight of TrumpRx, Republicans spent the last year taking health care away from millions of Americans and slashing funding for hospitals by calling it ‘waste, fraud, and abuse.’ The real fraud is Trump and his Republican Congress.”
