Pallone Applauds NIH’s Eureka Competition to Spur Innovation in Alzheimer’s Care

Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today applauding the National Institutes of Health (NIH) launch of the Eureka prize competition to spur the development of technology applications to improve Alzheimer's care, which was established as part of the 21st Century Cures Act. Up to $400,000 in cash prizes may be awarded to teams or individuals that participate in the challenge:

"I commend NIH for launching this important competition to help improve care for people living with Alzheimer's disease. I hope this competition will help spur new technologies that will improve care and coordination for those affected by Alzheimer's. It is critically important that we continue to invest in research to prevent, treat, and enhance the quality of care for all those affected by this harrowing disease."
