CMS’ Proposed Rule Begins Implementation of Medicare Payment Reforms Following Landmark Bipartisan Repeal of SGR Formula

WASHINGTON, DC – House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today welcomed the proposed rule issued by CMS that stems from the committee’s bipartisan repeal of the flawed SGR formula.

“The proposed rule is an important milestone. We look forward to reviewing it, and are appreciative of all of the engagement, communication, and cooperation to date that has followed our bipartisan efforts to repeal the flawed SGR formula. This was a tremendous and long-fought victory, and today marks another step to ensure MACRA meets its goals and is the success we all want it to be,” said Upton and Pallone. “There are big changes on the horizon, and we look forward to continuing to be a part of the discussion that delivers on behalf of doctors and the nation’s seniors.”
