Pallone Blasts Meta's FTC Lawsuit

Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today after Meta filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC): 

"This lawsuit is embarrassing. 

"It speaks volumes that Meta would rather launch a frivolous lawsuit against the agency tasked by Congress with protecting American consumers, especially our children, than do the serious work needed to reform their platforms. 

"Let's be clear, Meta will lose this lawsuit. It is a stunt intended to distract from the serious concerns regarding Meta's social media platforms and business practices. 

"Unfortunately, those concerns will still be there once this lawsuit is thrown out of court. It is time for Meta to stop playing games and start taking consumer protection concerns seriously."
